Use a heat gun (J 25070) set 152 mm (6.0 inches) above the surface to heat the emblem/nameplate by moving in circular motions for thirty seconds. The emblem/nameplate removal requires using a plastic flat tool to protect the paint surface. Heating the emblem/nameplate front and back with the heat gun (J 25070) at a distance of 6 inches from the surface for 30 seconds. Next, use 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) or its equivalent to clean the panel surface and back of the emblem/nameplate. Finish by wiping down the door panel with varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha. When no marking exists on the emblem/nameplate location apply guide tape. Use the heat gun (J 25070) to warm the door surface until it reaches a minimum 21°C (70°F) but avoid touching the emblem/nameplate's adhesive backing. After removing the backing from the front section of the emblem you should install it onto the door panel before finishing the backing removal.
