2010 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear wheel cylinder on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: Before installing the new brake cylinder start by taking out the Brake Drum and cleaning the areas around the Wheel Cylinder of dirt. Twist off the Wheel Cylinder brake pipe fitting and use a cap to seal it from fluid loss while protecting it from dust. Detach the Wheel Cylinder bolts then open the brake shoes slightly to unlatch the Wheel Cylinder from its position. Open the brake shoes by spreading them from top to bottom and place the new Wheel Cylinder over them. Use a torque wrench to lock the cylinder bolts at 8 nm (71 lb in). Attach and fasten the pipe connection to the Wheel Cylinder using 19 nm (14 lb ft) torque. Test hydraulic brakes after putting in the Brake Drum to make sure the drum brakes work properly.
