Q: How to replace the LH Motor and Transmission Mount on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
A: To replace the left side transmission mount, one must start by picking and supporting the car first. Tire and wheel assembly, left, then splash shield, left engine. Place a transmission jack under the transaxle and identify the upper nuts from transaxle mount on the transaxle bracket and remove it. Gradually lift the transaxle assembly, remove the lower nuts from the frame but take out the transaxle mount. For installation, position the attached new transaxle mount to the frame and fix the lower nuts to 52 nm (38 lb ft). Lower the transaxle because the mount stud can fit into the transexle bracket, and install its upper nuts and tighten to 52 nm (38 lb ft). Eliminate transmission jack; reinstall left engine splash shield; replace left wheel and tire assembly then vehicle should be lowered.
