2010 Chevrolet Impala Oil Filter Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
A: The first step to change engine oil and Oil Filter starts with elevating and sustaining a vehicle. A suitable drain pan must be placed underneath the Oil Pan Drain Plug before you remove it for complete engine oil drainage. The cleaning process ends with sealing surface inspection of the Oil Pan Drain Plug followed by checking for necessary Oil Pan replacement before draining the remaining oil from the plug hole and tightening the Drain Plug to its proper fit. Detect a proper drain pan beneath the Oil Filter then disassemble the filter while retaining its gasket to the adapter except in cases where the gasket needs removal from this adapter. Add clean engine oil onto the new Oil Filter gasket before placing and tightening the new Oil Filter to the adapter until it reaches 3/4 to 1 full turn when the gasket reaches contact with the adapter. Secure the oil Drain Plug to 26 nm (19 lb ft) torque while removing the drain pan sitting under the vehicle before dropping it to the ground. The vehicle's engine requires fresh oil of suitable capacities that meet regional specifications. Start the engine then check for any oil leakage. Stop the engine then allow the oil to return to the pan for a period of several minutes. Clean the tube end with a paper towel followed by reinstallation of the oil level indicator for top tube contact. Recheck the oil level by removing the indicator for a second time with its tip facing down to the ground. Check the oil level and make adjustments by adding or draining oil then inspect for leakages.
