2010 GMC Yukon Brake Pad Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear disc brake pads on the 2500 Series on 2010 GMC Yukon?
A: Check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level before starting work. Keep the fluid mid-way between minimum and maximum levels unless there is too much fluid, which needs to be reduced to the mid-point. Lift the vehicle and take off both the tire and wheel from underneath. Rest the brake caliper pistons fully by tightening two large c-clamps across the caliper housing onto the back of the outboard pad. Keep the brake caliper stable from harm with mechanic wire to protect the brake hose. First detach the caliper from the bracket and set it aside by supporting it with wire after removing guide pin bolts. Discard the brake pads retaining springs because they do not need to be reused during Brake Caliper Bracket removal. Check the caliper condition before installing Brake Pad retaining springs and braking pads onto the caliper bracket. Connect the caliper back onto its bracket while tightening bolts to 108 nm (80 lb ft). Put back the tire and wheel parts and let the vehicle down. Start with an empty engine and press the brake pedal until it reaches 2/3 of its travels before letting go. Press the brake pedal twice every 15 seconds until you reach a solid brake feel to correctly seat the brake caliper components. Rephrase the following sentence. Also normalize verbalization when possible.
