In order to replace crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, one should ensure that the ignition switch is off. Use j 36660 torque/angle meter, j 37096 flywheel holding tool, and j 38197 balancer remover for the procedure. This will be achieved by taking off the serpentine belt from the Crankshaft Pulley (CM1904) after which the vehicle should be hoisted and the right front tire and wheel assembly is removed, followed by the right inner fender splash shield, flywheel inspection cover (CM1907). The next step is to pull off the crankshaft
Harmonic Balancer and undo the sensor electrical connector. Do not use a pry bar and in turn remove the ckp sensor shield and the two attaching bolts to remove the ckp from the block face. For installation, place the ckp sensor to the block, install and tighten the bolts up to 30 nm (22 lb ft). Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor shield, hook up the ckp sensor electrical connector, and reinstall the crankshaft harmonics balancer, right inner fender splash shield, and right front wheel and tire assembly. Lower the vehicle, install the serpentine belt to the Crankshaft Pulley, then reconnecting the negative
Battery Cable, and carry out the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure.
