Service and repair of the Harmonic Balancer begins with Drive Belt removal followed by the right front tire and wheel and inner splash shield removal. The j 37096 (Flywheel Holding Tool) should be used to maintain the Flywheel stability before removing the balancer bolt without damaging the essential bond between the pulley and balancer assembly. After installing 1/4 inch bolts to the pulley using the j 33197 (Harmonic Balancer Puller), screw them in 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) until the crankshaft Harmonic Balancer is removed. Before installation apply engine oil to the Harmonic Balancer sealing surface and use the j 37096 (Flywheel Holding Tool) to secure the drive wheel during bolt attachment. First tighten the bolt to 150 nm (111 ft. Lbs.) and after that use the j 36660-a (Torque Angle Meter) to apply an additional 76 degrees of tightening torque. After installing the Drive Belt it is necessary to reinstall the right front tire with its wheel along with the inner splash shield.
