Buick LeSabre Trunk Latch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear compartment Trunk Latch with an interior lid release handle on Buick LeSabre?
A: Before starting work on the Trunk Latch you must disconnect all electrical connectors from it. Detach the latch cable from the lock cylinder and let go of the fastener that fixes the interior release handle on the trunk lid. After applying force on the cargo lid to release the fasteners below the Trunk Latch assembly you can take out the latch assembly. Reposition the latch assembly with its fasteners and secure it in place by tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Put the latch cable back to the lock cylinder and fasten the trunk interior release handle with fastener at 2 n.m (18 lb in). Finish by joining the electrical wires to the latch component positions.
