The technician should handle rocker arms, pushrods, and pedestals followed by removing valve guide retainer bolts and retainer pieces. To access the lash adjusters you need to take out the Lash Adjuster guides. The work calls for degreaser cleaning and surface inspection of gaskets and valve train parts and lash adjusters and cam lobe wear assessment. Lash adjusters should be soaked in prelube gm p/n 12345501 or equivalent before their installation together with Lash Adjuster guides. The valve guide retainer should be reinstalled followed by torquing the valve guide retainer bolts to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.).
