How to service and repair the Harmonic Balancer on Buick Park Avenue?

The Drive Belt and right front tire and wheel need removal before servicing or repairing the Harmonic Balancer. Use the Flywheel holding tool (J37096) to hold the Flywheel before removing the balancer bolt as you must keep the pulley and balancer together because they require service as one assembly. Use the Harmonic Balancer puller (J38197) to remove the Harmonic Balancer through the attachment of 1/4 in. Bolts to the pulley then screw them in 1/4 in. Before installing, apply engine oil to the seal surface then mount the Harmonic Balancer. When installing the Harmonic Balancer bolt through the Flywheel holding tool (J37096) maintain 150 nm (111 ft. Lbs.) torque then complete the installation by setting the torque angle meter (J36660-A) to a 76-degree angle. To finalize installation place the right front wheel and tire in position followed by Drive Belt installation and executing the ckp system variation learn operation.
