The tool requirement for valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement consists of electronic torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Start by taking off each Rocker Arm cover followed by the bolts from the corresponding side of the engine. Keep both components clean by placing them safely on the table while keeping the order needed during assembly. The replacement of valve rocker arms starts with removing them along with the push rod guide plates when all rocker arms need removal. Finally, position the push rods. After cleaning push rod parts and valve rocker arms along with their bolts and guide plates check that the valve Rocker Arm bolts have no trace of thread adhesive. Mount new engine oil on push rod ends and reinstall them into their initial positioning after using compressed air to remove oil from the Cylinder Head tapped holes. Install the push rod guide plates together with valve rocker arms while using the intended part number fasteners which expand after tightening. Manual technicians should install valve Rocker Arm bolts at 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) before utilizing the electronic torque angle meter (J 36660-A) to give each bolt a 90° additional rotation. The bolt threads should first receive threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent material. After restoring the left or right valve Rocker Arm cover place your inspection on the valve train to check for noise.
