How to replace the muffler in a with all-wheel drive (AWD) on Buick Rendezvous?

To replace the Muffler, first, take off the spare tire if the vehicle has an all-wheel drive (AWD), and raise and support the vehicle. Add a utility stand underneath the Catalytic Converter for supportive purposes making sure there is not more than 6 degrees of vertical movement at the rear part of Catalytic Converter assembly. Remove the Catalytic Converter to Muffler bolts and throw away the Catalytic Converter Gasket. If you have equipped this car with awd, also remove the spare tire heat shield and the exhaust hanger insulators from the underbody exhaust hangers. Then support and lower the cross member using a utility stand if needed and remove Muffler towards the front of the vehicle. Clean the flange of the Catalytic Converter and the Muffler and have the insulators of the hanger removed from the Muffler assembly. For installation attach the hanger insulators of the Muffler assembly, align the Muffler on the rear axle and towards the rear of the vehicle attach the exhaust hanger insulators on the underbody hangers. If awd is available: raise and install the crossmember with the util. Stand, reinstall spare tire heat shield. Put in new Catalytic Converter Gasket and tighten Catalytic Converter to Muffler bolts to 45 n.m (33 lb ft). Finally, lower the vehicle and reinstall the spare tire if has awd.
