Q: How to replace the axle shaft wheel seal on Buick Rendezvous?
A: Begin the replacement of the Axle Shaft oil seal by raising and supporting the vehicle and using the provided tools to remove right front tire assemblies then right front wheel drive shafts. The combination of j 2619-01 slide hammer (J 2619-01) and j 29794 Axle Shaft remover extension (J 29794) together with j 23129 universal seal remover (J 23129) will help remove the Axle Shaft oil seal from the Transfer Case. Automatic transaxle fluid should be used for lubrication when preparing new Axle Shaft oil seals for installation. The j 44752 bearing, race, and seal installer (J 44752) should be used to position the Axle Shaft oil seal within the Transfer Case while steering the Axle Shaft beyond the seal without letting splines touch the sealing surface or cause damage. Reassemble the unit by first placing right front wheel drive shaft followed by right front tire and wheel assembly before you lower the vehicle. To complete the procedure examine the transaxle fluid level and search for any fluid leakage.
