Cadillac CTS Wheel Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear wheel bearing on Cadillac CTS?
A: Start by hoisting the vehicle using jack stands to access the Wheel Bearing on the backside. Take off the tire then the wheel and brake rotor from back. Unscrew the wheel drive shaft nut first then disconnect each abs sensor electrical connector and the backing plate contact point. Unbolt the parking brake cable bracket from the knuckle and take off the bracket through its mounting bolts. The Wheel Hub remover (J 42129) attachment tools to the Wheel Bearing/hub to unlock the wheel drive shaft from the bearing and hub. Take off Wheel Bearing/hub mounting bolts while recognizing how the Wheel Hub remover may help separate the Wheel Bearing/hub unit from the drive axle. Extract the Wheel Bearing/hub with support plate from the knuckle by removing the Wheel Hub remover (J 42129). Set the Wheel Bearing/hub and backing plate on the knuckle before attaching all Wheel Bearing/hub fixing bolts and setting torque to 125 nm (92 ft. Lbs.). Secure the parking brake cable bracket and its bolts through tool of 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). Plumb the abs sensor electrical connector into the backing plate and to the main connection port. Replace and fasten the new wheel drive shaft nut by applying 118 ft. Lbs. Torque. Set the brake rotor in place as the last step by adding the tire and wheel back onto the car.
