Cadillac Eldorado Oxygen Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on Cadillac Eldorado?
A: The first step to replace a heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) bank 1 sensor 1 involves supporting the vehicle while raising it, together with supporting the powertrain frame from the rear. The four rear frame bolts need removal while lowering the frame only three inches below its original position. Before removal disconnect the rear Oxygen Sensor's electrical connector and remember that an engine temperature above 48°c (120°F) will make the task easier. The next step is to pull out the Oxygen Sensor which fits inside the rear Exhaust Manifold. The sensor installation needs special anti-seize compound on its threads; check if the new sensor already has this compound or if used sensors require treatment with p/n 5613695 or equivalent compound. Each new service Oxygen Sensor must arrive with anti-seize compound but reused sensors need anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 or its equivalent for coating. Secure the rear Oxygen Sensor into the rear Exhaust Manifold using 41 n.m (30 lb ft) of torque. Use the rear Oxygen Sensor connector to begin; raise the frame and tighten all four rear frame bolts to 100 n.m (74 lb ft) before you lower the vehicle.
