Position the front cover gasket over dowel pins of the crankcase before placing the front cover in its final position. Seal the split line with GM P/N 12345739 or equivalent sealant. Install the front cover retaining bolts, tightening them in the specified sequence to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)Reinstall the crankshaft balancer after tightening the front cover retaining bolts according to specification.
