While servicing and repairing the inflatable restraint air bag clock spring, ensure to center the new sir coil assembly to avoid any damage and malfunctions. Before centering, make sure that the wheels of the vehicle are straight ahead, and the block tooth of the
Steering Shaft assembly is at 12 o'clock position, and the Ignition Switch is also in lock position. At the center of the sir coil is a centering window at the front. Center the sir coil by positioning face up and turning the coil hub clockwise until the ribbon stops, then turning the hub counterclockwise until the centering window turns yellow (left-to-right direction) and both arrows are aligned. This means it is in the center position. With the same attitude only align the loop of the sir coil with that of the horn tower and slide it onto the Steering Shaft assembly. If you have a double wire harness strap, you should route the wires along the
Steering Column, ensuring that one strap wraps one lead from the coil to the Steering Column while the second strap wraps all other leads to the Steering Column.
