- Q: What tools are required to replace the camshaft for RPOs LY6, L76, and L92 (6.0L and 6.2L) on Cadillac Escalade ESV?A: The necessary tools to replace the Camshaft in rpos ly6, l76, and l92 (6.0L and 6.2L) vehicles include en 46330 timing belt tensioner retaining pin (EN 46330), j 42386-a Flywheel holding tool (J 42386-A), and j 45059 angle meter (J 45059). Start the procedure by taking off the radiator support together with valve lifters followed by the engine front cover and Starter motor while ensuring j 42386-a fits correctly into the engine Flywheel. Apply the j 42386-a along with its two bolts as follows: m10-1.5 x 120 mm and m10-1.5 x 45 mm and tighten to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Angle the crankshaft sprocket until you see both the alignment marks of the Camshaft position actuator line up with the marks on the crankshaft sprocket. First remove the cmp actuator solenoid valve (234) from its place before taking out the cmp actuator (235) together with Timing Chain (208). Use extreme caution when removing the Camshaft retainer bolts (204) because contact to the Camshaft bearings should be avoided. Also remove the retainer (203) from the bolts. The Camshaft sprocket bolt serves as a tool for installation of the Camshaft into the engine block which must be lubricated before placement with clean engine oil. When installing Camshaft retainer (203) with bolts (204), tighten first design hex head bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) and second design torx head bolts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). First compress the Timing Chain tensioner guide before you put in en 46330 while making sure the cmp actuator and Timing Chain maintain proper alignment. Attend to the cmp actuator solenoid valve (234) installation by starting with a torque of 65 n.m (48 lb ft) followed by a 90-degree torque with j 45059. The last step entails both removal of the j 42386-a and its related bolts before reinstalling the Starter motor together with the engine front cover and valve lifters and radiator support.
