Disembowel the Rack and Pinion Boot from its location near the steering gear. The right-hand threading on the inner Tie Rod support clamp requires counterclockwise rotation for removal whereas the left-hand threading on the inner Tie Rod support nut must be tightened in the clockwise direction. Use the j 44665-1 and j 44665-2 to remove the inner Tie Rod support clamp while you should use the j 44665-2 to extract the inner Tie Rod from the steering gear. The j 44665-2 should be utilized to fasten the inner Tie Rod to the steering gear while adjusting it to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.). The installation of the inner Tie Rod support clamp to the steering gear requires use of j 44665-1 and j 44665-2 to achieve a torque of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). To complete the repair you must reinstall both the Rack and Pinion Boot along with tire and wheel and lower the vehicle before performing a four-wheel alignment.
