Raising the vehicle and taking off the wheel and tire system are essential preliminary steps to replace the front Brake Caliper Bracket in a 2500 series vehicle. Uninstall your
Brake Pads before removing the Brake Pad retaining springs. Loosen and take out bracket mounting bolts from the Brake Caliper Bracket before removing it. Attach the Brake Caliper Bracket onto the
Steering Knuckle for installation. Clean all traces of the old adhesive off the Brake Caliper Bracket before tightening its bolts. Wash the threaded area of the bolts with denatured alcohol or an equivalent solvent and let them dry completely. Add threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to all Brake Caliper Bracket bolts threads and carry out installation by tightening bolt pairs to 300 n.m (221 lb ft). Place new Brake Pad retaining springs on the Brake Caliper Bracket then put the brake pads into position. Push down the brake pedal carefully to reach a solid position then add brake fluid to the master cylinder when needed. Replace the tire and wheel parts in their correct position.
