For Intake Manifold replacement begin the process by removing the
Throttle Body and
Fuel Injectors. Then disconnect the power cables connected to the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor and
Knock Sensor. The Knock Sensor harness connector needs detaching before setting aside the electrical harness. The replacement starts with removing vacuum brake booster hose from the Intake Manifold's rear then removing the positive crankcase ventilation hose. Begin by detaching the
MAP Sensor and evaporative emission (EVAP) purge solenoid vent tube from its connection to both solenoid and vapor pipe . Remove the evap purge solenoid bolt along with the solenoid and isolator from the Intake Manifold before loosening it and the Intake Manifold gaskets. Dispose of the old gaskets. Check the Intake Manifold and clean it if needed. The installation procedure starts with setting new Intake Manifold gaskets onto the Intake Manifold before mounting the manifold. Add threadlock gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) at 5 mm (0.20 inch) width on the Intake Manifold bolts before tightening them through sequence to an initial 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) then final 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). After adding new evap purge solenoid components and bolting the system in place with 10 nm torque (89 inch lbs.), connect the solenoid vent tube to both the solenoid and vapor pipe. After preparing the MAP Sensor's seal with clean engine oil you can put the MAP Sensor onto the Intake Manifold next to the pcv hose and the vacuum brake booster hose if present. Guide the wiring harness across the engine compartment before you join the Knock Sensor wiring and electrical plugs for both MAP Sensor and Knock Sensor. Place the Throttle Body along with the fuel injectors during the installation process.
