For a replacement of Radiator outlet hose in 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l engines, the draining of the cooling system is necessary. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor and then pull out the air cleaner outlet duct. Remove the outlet hose clamp from the Water Pump and take out the outlet hose from the Water Pump. Then remove outlet hose clamp from the Radiator and take the outlet hose out of the Radiator. In installation, connect the outlet hose to the Radiator, and adjust the outlet hose clamp to the Radiator. Next, attach the outlet hose to the Water Pump and reposition the outlet hose clamp back on the Water Pump on to the pump stud that is on the Throttle Body end of the duct, directing the arrow at the Throttle Body stud. Replace the air cleaner outlet duct and the Radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct. Lastly, secure the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor, make sure that the screws of the clamp screws are tightened to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.) and top-up the cooling system.
