How to replace the right catalytic converter (LY7) on Cadillac SRX?

Start by taking off the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield followed by the Catalytic Converter nuts to replace the right Catalytic Converter (LY7). First elevate the vehicle while supporting it. If your vehicle has awd you should also uninstall the front driveshaft. First disconnect the electrical connector from the Oxygen Sensor and the muffler pipe from both sides of the catalytic converters. Start by removing the fasteners connecting to the right bank Catalytic Converter and then proceed to carefully extract the converter with its heat shield and Oxygen Sensor removal from the exhaust manifold. Detach the Oxygen Sensor which is located at the Catalytic Converter end. Connect the Oxygen Sensor to its regular placement on the Catalytic Converter before checking the condition of the heat shield seal surface. Replace the heat shield if it shows any signs of wear and damage. Replace the exhaust manifold's Catalytic Converter and heat shield seal with proper fasteners for retention. The Oxygen Sensor electrical connection needs reattachment after checking that the Catalytic Converter seal remains intact and needs replacement if necessary. The muffler pipes should be fitted to the left and right side catalytic converters using proper torque of 22 nm (16 ft. Lbs.) on each muffler nut. Install the front driveshaft on a vehicle with sidestep system before lowering the vehicle to securely tighten the Catalytic Converter nuts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Finally, replace the right bank exhaust manifold heat shield.
