How to replace the upper intermediate steering shaft on Cadillac XLR?

Start by turning the steering wheel left to access the upper to lower intermediate shaft bolts before locking the ignition position. Start by removing the upper to lower intermediate shaft bolts followed by the Steering Column and upper intermediate Steering Shaft from inside the vehicle compartment. Put the upper intermediate Steering Shaft into the intermediate shaft seal while inside the vehicle before installing the Steering Column. Install the lower intermediate shaft onto the upper intermediate shaft following the instructions from the fastener notice in service precautions and then torque the retaining bolts to 48 nm (35 ft. Lbs.).
