To service and repair Steering Angle Sensor, you are required to figure out the type of Steering Angle Sensor by looking at the illustrations below before removal. Identify the type of the sensor with it being emphasized that the front of this sensor connector will be on the right side. If the sensor is to be reused, centering measurement is not needed prior to removal. Disconnect the sensor from the adapter and the bearing assembly then sample the sensor off. During re-installation, there is need to make alignment mark on the flush rotor flange cuff when using existing sensor, failure to make the mark may result to misalignment. For installation, if using a new sensor, it will have a pin installed on it; do not take out the pin until the sensor is in place. Mount the sensor on the
Steering Shaft, and fix it to the adapter and bearing assembly with the connector properly connected. The front of the sensor will include a foam ring, a pin hole for centering pin, a flushed rotor flange cuff, and an alignment mark for installation. If the sensor is to be reused, align the flush rotor flange cuff marks prior to installation and keep them aligned to anchor the flange as it is seated. Repeating the alignment and installation for each sensor, make sure to mention the respective features such as the raised rotor flange, cuff, marks on the alignment side, and pin holes to ensure proper centering when installation.
