Chevrolet Astro Emblem Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the body emblem on Chevrolet Astro?
A: Start working on the body emblem service with the Body Molding Removal Tool (J 41409) and its related tools at hand. Apply masking tape first to the body side border of the emblem then molding to protect them from damage during removal and reinstallation. Cut through adhesive material either with Body Molding Removal Tool (J 41409) or a 0.8 mm (0.03 in) fishing line. Install the part in a clean space since dust or dirt on the surface can affect how the product sticks. Use a solvent blend of 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% water to wipe the space before placing the molding or emblem. Make sure the area is totally dry before continuing. Adjust heating when the body part measures between 27 and 41 degrees Celsius or 80 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Set the emblems to 85-90°F (29-32°C) temperature through direct contact with heat elements like hotplates or heating devices. Remove the protecting film from the back of the equipment and press the equipment onto the body area while using equal force across the entire surface.
