How to replace the rear Door Latch Assembly on Chevrolet Astro?

The first step for replacing the rear door latch includes removing the trim panel. The water deflector can be carefully removed from the door by using a soft-surfaced scraper if needed. Separate the control rods from the remote lock by first easing the anchor loose from its hole then moving the clip toward the opposite end of the lever before drawing rod and clip past the lever. You should start by removing upper latch screws together with the upper latch (when equipped) before taking out upper latch and rod from the door. The door requires removal of lower latch screws followed by reinforcement and lower latch and rod. Begin the installation process by adding clips onto the remote lock before you install the lower latch and rod onto the door and then add the reinforcement piece.
