First, turn off the sir system. Then remove the inflatable restraint
Steering Wheel module and the Steering Wheel for removal of the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module coil. Then, remove the wire harness straps that is holding the steering column wire. Proceed to detaching the retaining ring as well as taking out the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module coil from the
Steering Shaft. Before installation, the air bag clock spring assembly must be centered. Run the air bag clock spring assembly connectors through the steering column and insert the existing air bag clock spring assembly on the Steering Shaft assembly by placing it properly and lining up the opening with the horn tower and the locating bump on the end between the two bones for the lock housing cover/and sleeve assembly; and snap it on to the Steering Shaft assembly. If a new air bag clock spring assembly is needed, assemble the pre-centered air bag clock spring assembly to the Steering Shaft assembly and position it, align the opening, and remove and dispose of the centering tab, and install the retaining ring into the Steering Shaft assembly. It is very important to tug all the wires so as to eliminate all kinks that might be found within the steering column assembly to avoid damaging the wire harness. At last, install the wiring protector and wire harness straps to the steering column, and thereafter, the Steering Wheel, the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module, and activate the sir system.
