Chevrolet Classic Trunk Lock Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Trunk Lock Cylinder in the rear compartment lid on Chevrolet Classic?
    A:
Before replacing the lock cylinder you need to take out the rear compartment lid applique. You need to loosen the rear compartment lid lock cable from the lock cylinder with a flat blade. Use a drill to remove the rivets holding the lock cylinder to the rear compartment lid and pull out both parts plus the gasket. Place the cylinder and gasket over the rear compartment lid before inserting the rivets. Press the rear compartment lid cable onto the cylinder until all retainer tabs settle into place. Include the rear compartment lid applique as the last step of the repair process.
