The replacement of valve Rocker Arm and push rod must begin with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Maintain the valve rocker covers in separate positions until you need to reinstall them back to their original locations. When replacing the valve Rocker Arm and rocker arms users must first disconnect the bolts then remove both pivot balls along with the rocker arms before properly noting the Pushrod position. Install the pushrods into their original positions after removing them by applying gm p/n 1052356 material or equivalent to the Pushrod ends using j 36660-a torque angle meter. The length of the yellow-striped intake pushrods measures 5-3/4 inches whereas the green-striped exhaust pushrods measure 6 inches while proper lifter seating is essential. Attach the rocker arms along with pivot balls and protect all bearing surfaces using gm p/n 1052356 or a permitted alternative. Install the Rocker Arm bolts while torquing them to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) before continuing to torque 30 degrees using the j 36660-a. The last step includes reinstallation of the valve rocker covers and restoring the negative Battery Cable connection.
