Keep the threaded part of the switch 1.5-2 mm (0.06-0.08 inch) apart from the contact plate surface. After setting the stoplamp switch position press the Brake Pedal firmly to install the stoplamp switch locknut while tightening it at 8 nm (71 inch lbs.). Reconnect both the stoplamp electrical connector and negative battery wire in the end.
