How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on Chevrolet S10?

Begin replacing the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) by raising the vehicle while placing a drain pan underneath. Separate the electrical connector from the sensor while unscrewing the bolt. A combination of twisting and pulling mechanics enables the operator to remove the vehicle speed sensor from its case before discarding the O-ring seal. After installing a new O-ring seal on the vehicle speed sensor you should apply clean transmission fluid to the O-ring before inserting the sensor into the transmission case. Drive bolt into place before tightening it to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.). Detach the wiring harness electrical connector from the vehicle speed sensor while you remove the drain pan and then lower the vehicle before filling with DEXRON (R) III transmission fluid to the required level.
