    A:
To replace the Rack And Pinion Boot off the vehicle, first, use the j 22610 keystone clamp pliers (J 22610) to remove the outer tie rod and thereafter, the Rack And Pinion gear. When changing the inner tie rod, all boot parts have to be changed. Remove the small seal retaining clamp and the large seal retaining clamp from the Rack and Pinion Boot and cut out using side cutters, being careful not to cut the end of the boot or use a screw driver between the boot and tie rod. Pull the Rack and Pinion Boot firmly off the gear and throw it away. Rob a small amount of grease into the Rack and Pinion Boot ribs and fit a new large seal retaining clamp onto the boot. Mount the boot over the inner Tie Rod End and align arrows on the boot with the range indicated on the gear housing. Then, install the new small seal retaining clamp over the boot and move boot toward the middle of the gear assembly until it locks into the inner tie rod retaining groove, making sure it is not twisted, pucketed, or out of shape. Crimp large seal retaining clamp (bold) on boot () as well as the small seal retaining clamp () to the inner tie rod assembly (c) using j 22610 keystone clamp pliers (J 22610). Finally, the Rack And Pinion gear and the outer tie rod should be installed back.
