In order to replace the crossmember for the transmission, raise the vehicle, and place the transmission on a suitable stand or jack. Raising the transmission unit involves the removal of the nuts that tighten and hold the transmission mount on the transmission support. Then remove the vertical bolts attaching the transmission support to the frame, and the horizontal nuts and bolts which also support transmission support to the frame for it to come out. For installation, locate the support again onto the frame and loosen the horizontal nuts (and bolts) and vertical bolts just a little. Tighten the horizontal nuts to 50 n.m (37lb ft), and the vertical bolts to 100 n.m (74 lb ft). Lower the transmission, install nuts to the transmission mount, remove the stand or jack, and finally lower the vehicle.
