The j 39194 Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194) serves for taking out the Oxygen Sensor for servicing. Treat the Oxygen Sensor with extreme care by completely avoiding contact with cleaning solvents or grease or dirt because such substances could degrade the sensor function. Keep the pigtail attached to the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) as well to the Oxygen Sensor (O2S). Also check that all wiring and connector systems remain intact without any damage since sensor replacement will be needed in case of any damage. The removal of the sensor ground wire can cause the engine to perform poorly therefore it needs to be kept intact. Work on the ho2s sensor only when the engine reaches 48°c (120°F) because lower temperatures could harm Exhaust Manifold and pipe threads. To begin the replacement task you should start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by finding the ho2s and proceeding to raise the vehicle and disconnect the ho2s harness connector. Remove the ho2s using the tool designated j 39194 (J 39194). Before installing the ho2s apply anti-seize compound to the sensor threads if needed followed by tightening the ho2s to 42 n.m (31 lb ft). After lowering the vehicle the ho2s harness connector can be reconnected followed by negative Battery Cable reinstallation.
