  A: Owners must obtain the following tools to replace wheel drive shaft outer joints and seals: the required tools consist of snap ring pliers (J 8059) and seal clamp tool (J 35910) and drive axle clamp swage tool (J 36652). Snap ring pliers (J 8059), seal clamp tool (J 35910), and drive axle clamp swage tool (J 36652). Protective covers should first go over the vise jaws before installing the halfshaft securely inside the vise. The hand grinder helps you precisely cut the swage ring using a technique that protects the outer race from damage. Lower the new seal down the halfshaft bar as you clean the surface area of the CV Joint. The CV Joint and seal combination can be separated with snap ring pliers (J 8059) by opening the snap ring ears before removal. Dispose of the old seal afterwards.
