Turn the door upside down after removing the upper screw and latch unit then handle the rod and trap together. Unscrew both lower latch fasteners and eliminate the reinforcement system and lower latch assembly with attached rod from the door surface. Begin your process by adding the clips to the remote lock unit before installing both lower latch and rod onto the door structure with specified reinforcement. Secure the lower latch screws to 8 N.m of torque pressure. Put the upper latch set and rod onto the door opening while installing the cover if it is available. Secure upper latch screws to 10 N.m when completing installation. Insert the control rods back through their clips and into the remote lock while placing the water deflector in its original position before fitting the trim panel for both the rear door (Cargo Doors) and the rear door (E54).
