In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly, one should remove air cleaner assembly, then disconnect accelerator control cable and cruise control cable from the Throttle Body and then disconnect vacuum hose. Next to detach the throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve harness connectors, as well as the coolant hoses from Throttle Body and vapor vent pipe. Roj the Throttle Body attaching nuts and thereafter remove the Throttle Body along with the gasket which you should throw away while taking care that the surfaces of sealing are not harmed during the cleaning process. Do not submerge the Throttle Body into cold type immersion cleaners since there is a factory-applied sealing compound to the throttle plate which will be damaged in harsh solvents. Clean the Throttle Body with a spray type cleaner such gm x-66a, or gm p/n 1052626 and make sure that the tp sensor and iac valve have no direct contact with solvents. After cleaning the surfaces of the gasket sealing, instal the Throttle Body that has a new gasket and attach the body to the attaching nuts, tightening the latter to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Connect the coolant hoses, accelerator control cable, cruise control cable, tp sensor, iac valve electrical connectors and the vacuum hose. Finally, reinstall the air cleaner assembly, check the accelerator pedal for free movement when using the engine off and also reposition the iac valve by master ignition for 10 seconds and then 5seconds before starting the engine to confirm that it idles well.
