First, remove the
Flywheel in order to replace the crankshaft rear oil seal. Use a flat-tipped screw driver to gently remove the seal from the housing at the access notches and discard the used seal. Clean out any dirt or rust around the area followed by the application of 2 to 3 drops of clean engine oil to the bore of the housing or the outer diameter of the engine Flywheel pilot flange, and the outer diameter of Flywheel location pin or the Crankshaft Seal surface. Make sure the new reverse style seal is in the right position and reads "this side out" on it. Check the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) flange for imperfections that could damage the total new seal by minimizing small imperfections with fine grade emery cloth. Prevent the seal lip surface from coming in contact with oil or lubricants. Take the sleeve out of the seal, and apply 2 to 3 drops of clean engine oil to the outside diameter. Mount the seal to the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) and back onto the crankshaft, hand torquing the tool bolts into position. Proper alignment of the crankshaft rear oil seal is very important; mount it near flush and square to the back of crankshaft rear oil seal housing so as not to fail. Turn the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) wing nut clockwise until the seal is positioned as close to flush and square within the housing as possible, feeling that the seal reached the bottom of the housing bore. Afterward, rotate the wing nut counter clockwise to extricate the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) from the seal, take the tool, wipe it with a clean cloth, if necessary, of extra engine oil, and thereafter, instill the engine Flywheel.
