How to replace the Lash Adjuster in the LH6, LMG, LY5, and L76 engines on GMC Sierra 1500?

To change the lash adjusters (209, 219) in the lh6, lmg, ly5, and l76 engines, remove the Cylinder Head and gasket. Then remove the Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) and Lash Adjuster guides (210) along with Lash Adjuster, noting the installed position of the guides as the notched area needs to face locating tab on the engine block. Remove lash adjusters from the guide and arrange or mark the components for re-assembly at their original positions. Clean and scrutinize the lash adjusters if the need arises. When re-fitting, place clean oil on the lash adjusters and the engine block Lash Adjuster bores, then insert the adjusters into the guides making sure the flat area on the non-active fuel management adjuster is in the flat area in the guide bore and that the active fuel management adjusters are in the guides with the notch in the guide aligned with the raised install the lash adjusters and guide (210) to the engine block paying due attention to fastener precautions and secure with Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) torqued to 12 nm (106 lb in). Lastly, install the Cylinder Head and gasket.
