The first step to replace a Steering Knuckle requires a vehicle lift and vehicle support. First remove the wheel and tire followed by removal of the wheel drive shaft when present. First disconnect the
Wheel Bearing and hub assembly followed by unscrewing the outer
Tie Rod End from the knuckle. The process starts with separate
Control Arms from the knuckle before extracting the knuckle from the vehicle. Start by placing the lower
Ball Joint into the knuckle and then position the upper Ball Joint afterwards. The installation involves putting the outer Tie Rod End into the knuckle before reassembling the Wheel Bearing and hub assembly. After installing the wheel drive shaft you should replace the tire and wheel on the vehicle. After support removal and wheel lowering check the vehicle's wheel alignment.
