    Q:
How to replace the steering knuckle on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Steering Knuckle, start by jacking the vehicle and removing the tire and wheel. Next, extract the Wheel Hub and the bearing, upper Ball Joint and lower Ball Joint. Loose the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle with the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) after loosening the outer tie rod retaining nut and bracket. First, an external striker bolt, which holds an external cable bank, should be removed from the steering-knuckle by the user, and then the steering-knuckle should be extracted from the vehicle. For the purpose of installation seat the new Steering Knuckle onto the car and then the upper and lower ball joints. Reconnect the park brake cable retaining bolt to the Steering Knuckle and tighten to 65 n.m (48 lb ft). Install Wheel Hub and bearing, and securing the outer tie rod retaining nut to the Steering Knuckle with a 55 n.m pure (40 lb ft) wrench. Also attach the outer tie rod retaining bracket and tighten it to 65 n.m (48 lb ft). Lastly, fit the tire and wheel back, lower the vehicle, and carry out a four-wheel alignment.

    Q:
How to replace the rear steering knuckle on Cadillac Escalade ESV? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the rear Steering Knuckle, lift the car, take the tire and wheel off. Then remove the Wheel Hub from the bearing, then remove the upper Ball Joint, and the lower Ball Joint. Unbolt the outer tie rod retaining nut and bracket, then take off the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle by using the j 24319-b universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B). Next, remove the park brake cable retaining bolt from the Steering Knuckle and pull out the Steering Knuckle from the car. For installation then first install the new Steering Knuckle to the vehicle followed by upper Ball Joint and downwards Ball Joint. Pull on the cable retaining bolt to the Steering Knuckle and secure with a torque of 65 nm (48ft. Lbs). Then the Wheel Hub and bearing must be installed and the outer tie rod retaining nut to the Steering Knuckle, and should be tightened to 55 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Install the outer tie rod retaining bracket and tighten to 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.). Last, in the car, put the tire and wheel, lower the car, and do a four-wheel alignment.

    Q:
How to replace the steering knuckle on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle placement at a raised position becomes essential before starting any work on Steering Knuckle replacement operations. Begin by removing the Wheel Hub and bearing and continue by taking out the upper Ball Joint and lower Ball Joint. The universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) allows outer tie rod removal from the Steering Knuckle following outer tie rod retaining nut and bracket removal. The park brake cable retaining bolt needs removing from the Steering Knuckle before extracting the Steering Knuckle from the vehicle. The new Steering Knuckle should be positioned on the vehicle before adding the upper along with the lower ball joints. The park brake cable retaining bolt needs installation into the Steering Knuckle and requires tightening to 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.). The installation order begins with the Wheel Hub and bearing followed by tightening the outer tie rod retaining nut to 55 nm (40 ft. Lbs.) and concluding with the outer tie rod retaining bracket to 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.). After reattaching the tire and wheel the vehicle needs to be lowered and a four-wheel alignment needs to be performed.

    Q:
How to replace the steering knuckle with coil spring suspension on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Instead of Steering Knuckle a coil spring suspension, first lift and support the vehicle, tire and wheel will be removed. Take care and examine each part before returning the items because they will be expensive to replace if something goes wrong. Should you need to further extend the Control Arm, you will need a wheel alignment after it has been returned. In the case of having it, remove the electronic suspension control link rod from the sensor and remove the outer link rod from the knuckle. Remove the brake hose bracket retaining bolt from the knuckle, then remove the retaining nut and separate the upper and lower ball joints from the Steering Knuckle using the j 43631 Ball Joint remover and j 45851 Ball Joint separator protector adapters. After the removal of the Steering Knuckle, clean the tapered area and thread of the upper and lower Ball Joint and Tie Rod End, and examine the taper hole and mounting surfaces of the Steering Knuckle; replace the Steering Knuckle if there are elongated tapered holes, out of round, or damages. Mount the Steering Knuckle, attach the lower joint with ball to it and put in retaining nut and tighten it up to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.). Replace the Steering Knuckle to the upper Ball Joint then screw the retaining nut and tighten it to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Install the brake hose bracket retaining bolt to the knuckle, tying it down to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.), then install the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle and Wheel Hub and bearing. Connect the esc link rod to the sensor if it is installed; attach the tire and wheel, while taking safety stands away; and lower the vehicle.
