How to replace the rear wheel cylinder on GMC Canyon?

The first step to replace the brake cylinder is to remove the rear brake shoes. To avoid fluid drainage use brake pipe caps on the suspension fitting while you plugging the Wheel Cylinder input port for safety. First loosen the Wheel Cylinder bolts and then take out the Wheel Cylinder from its location. Put the new Wheel Cylinder in its designated position and fasten the Wheel Cylinder bolts. Tighten them to 18 nm (13 lb ft) during installation. Attach the brake pipe fitting at the Wheel Cylinder and tighten it to 19 nm (14 lb ft). Return the brake shoes to the back end while bleeding the Wheel Cylinder to regain correct hydraulic braking.

How to Service and Repair a Wheel Cylinder on GMC Safari?

First to replace the Wheel Cylinder, then brake shoes than brake pipe and finally take out the Wheel Cylinder bolts before taking out the Wheel Cylinder. For installation, start with the installation of the Wheel Cylinder, following the fastener notice into service precautions. Next, install the Wheel Cylinder bolts and tighten them up to 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Attach the brake pipe to the Wheel Cylinder and secure the brake pipe fitting to 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.) lastly, fit back the brake shoes and bleed the brake system.

How to overhaul the wheel cylinder on GMC Savana 3500?

To fix the Wheel Cylinder start with these actions: pull out the pushrod from the cylinder bore then remove the bleeder valve the Piston boots and pistons one after the other plus seals and spring. Test the rear brake cylinder hole for internal damage then evaluate the brake cylinder spring for darkening due to overheating. Tap a crocus cloth inside the brake cylinder and replace it when any scoring remains. Rub clean brake fluid inside the rear brake cylinder. Place brake fluid on the rear brake cylinder components before you add the rear brake cylinder spring , seals , pistons , and Piston cylinder boots . Install the rear brake bleeder valve afterward securing it with 13 nm (100 inch lbs.) and placing back the rear brake cylinder pushrod.

To avoid fluid drainage use brake pipe caps on the suspension fitting while you plugging the Wheel Cylinder input port for safety. First loosen the Wheel Cylinder bolts and then take out the Wheel Cylinder from its location. Put the new Wheel Cylinder in its designated position and fasten the Wheel Cylinder bolts. Tighten them to 18 nm (13 lb ft) during installation. Attach the brake pipe fitting at the Wheel Cylinder and tighten it to 19 nm (14 lb ft). Return the brake shoes to the back end while bleeding the Wheel Cylinder to regain correct hydraulic braking.
