To remove the crankshaft rear oil seal, first, remove the automatic transmission flex plate. Finally, remove the old crankshaft rear oil seal (141). For installation, reverse-lip aspect of the oil seal should face in the away from the engine with the part number marks turned in that direction. Start by checking out the seal's correct orientation. Change the tractor back to normal sitting position, install the J 41479 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installer (J 41479) cone and bolts onto the rear of the crank shaft, teasing the bolts tight without overtightening. Then, deposit the rear oil seal over the tapered cone and push it into the rear seal bore. The J 41479 threaded rod should be threaded into the tapered cone until it makes contact with the oil seal, positioning the oil seal into the tool. Turn the handle of the tool clockwise so that the seal becomes fully seated in the rear cover bore. Lastly, remove the J 41479 and install the automatic transmission flexplate.
