How to replace the front door striker on GMC Yukon?

First remove the lower striker bolt from the front door before loosening the upper striker bolt enough to rotate the striker along with the spacer away from the lower bolt hole. Install the lower striker bolt before tightening it enough to maintain the position of the striker backing plate. The next step requires you to detach both the upper striker bolt and the spacer when equipped and the striker. You should start installation with the striker and spacer when equipped before installing the upper striker bolt . Rotate the lower striker bolt before removing it while checking for proper alignment between the upper threaded hole of the plate and of the bolt. Align the lower threaded hole on the striker backing plate by rotating both the striker together with any installed spacer. Screw the striker bolts tightly to 24 Nm (18 lb ft).
