One must begin replacement of the Shift Cable by positioning the Steering Column shift lever to park then removing the instrument panel knee bolster followed by the driver's seat. Start by detaching the cable end from the Steering Column ball stud followed by de-pressing the tangs to extract the cable from the Steering Column bracket and finishing by removing the bolt holding the cable support to the brace but keep away from twisting or bending the Shift Cable. After that disconnect the support from the Shift Cable and extract the cable grommet from the floor panel. Climb underneath the vehicle while it remains supported at the appropriate height then unscrew the retaining clips from the cable which is anchored to the floor panel reinforcement.
