Use the retainer to fasten the cable end onto the ball stud of the Steering Column. The last step involves testing the transmission for correct shift operation by adjusting the cable when gear positions cannot be fully achieved. Afterward, install the body hinge pillar trim panel together with driver seat and instrument panel knee bolster while repositioning carpet and insulation.

Remove the cable from the support and the grommet from the floor panel.

Test the transmission for proper shift operation.

Connect the cable end to the steering column ball stud and secure the retainer to the steering column.
