Shift Lever Seal

Before starting the boot replacement for transmission control lever you must first remove the lever. Push and lift the lower part of the boot covering the control lever to reveal the screws before you remove these screws from the four control edge retaining points. Smash the 4 plastic retainers off the floor after you succeed in removing the control lever boot retaining bezel along with its boot and retainers as one piece. Separate the boot retaining bezel from the control lever boot by removing its attached 4 plastic retainers. Then pull out the control lever insulator from the floor surface. Place the control lever insulator onto the floor before starting installation. The 4 plastic retainers should be inserted into the boot while assembling the retaining bezel to it. Secure the control lever boot retaining bezel and boot onto the floor through the installation of the 4 plastic retainers. Use downward pressure on the lower edge of the control lever boot as needed to put in 4 retaining screws which need to be torqued to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). The transmission control lever needs installation as the last step.

The replacement process for transmission control lever boot requires dismantling of the transmission control lever prior to commencement. The lower border of the control lever boot needs lift and pushing motions to access the retaining screws before removing them all. Separate the floor-mounted four plastic retainers before you remove the control lever boot retaining bezel and boot assembly with its retainers. Remove the 4 plastic retainers from the boot before pulling out both the control lever boot retaining bezel and boot independently. Lastly, detach the control lever insulator from the floor. The first step for installation consists of placing the control lever insulator onto the floor surface. After aligning the control lever boot retaining bezel with boot construction you can add its 4 plastic retainers. The installation process requires fitting the control lever boot retaining bezel and boot together with the floor retention of 4 plastic retainers by following fastener caution guidelines. Use a screwdriver to tighten the 4 retaining screws of the control lever boot to 1.6 Nm (14 lb in). After screw installation, the transmission control lever can be added.

Begin replacement of the transmission control lever boot by taking out the transmission control lever. You should lift and push the lower edge of the control lever boot to reveal its retaining screws before removing all 4 screws. Start by placing the control lever insulator onto the floor as the first step for the installation process. You need to place the control lever boot retaining bezel onto the boot after which you should add the 4 plastic retainers. Fastener caution procedures aside, install the control lever boot retaining bezel along with its boot and secure the 4 plastic retainers to the floor. Install the 4 retaining screws to the control lever boot by pushing its lower edge first and tightening them to 1.6 Nm (14 lb in). Later, install the transmission control lever.
