You must start the A/C accumulator installation process by taking away the evaporator tube from your vehicle. The project begins by marking 40 mm (1.5 in) from the evap tube bend close to the high side access port then continuing the mark 50.8 mm (2 in) from that first point. Through use of a tubing cutter, trim the evaporator tube at the designated spot while preventing metal burrs from entering the tube both during cutting and removal processes. First remove the burrs from the evaporator tube before untightening nuts and removing O-rings from ferrules at A/C accumulator. Only install the ferrules and nuts onto the evaporator tube pieces without placing the O-rings at this time. Position the A/C accumulator onto the evaporator tube with the flow arrow facing the evaporator while installing ferrules which should have the small end at the nut side. When positioning the evaporator tube inside the A/C accumulator, agent should apply torque on the nuts until they reach 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Prior to installing the O-rings on the evaporator tube apply 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to them. The O-rings need to be placed on the evaporator tube. Secure the nuts on the A/C accumulator and torque them to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Reinstall the evaporator tube into the vehicle before completing a leak test of the component join(s) with the Halogen Leak Detector model J 39400-A.

The first step before replacing the A/C Accumulator includes the recovery procedure of the refrigerant from the system. Take off the air cleaner together with the upper radiator shroud and the grille from the vehicle. First disconnect the evaporator tube from the vehicle keeping ferrules and nuts attached to it. The replacement of the A/C Accumulator begins with removing its nuts from the A/C Accumulator and removing the accumulator from the evaporator tube. Apply 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new installation rings then place them on the evaporator tube. Place the new A/C Accumulator onto the evaporator tube in the correct direction toward the evaporator. Then fasten it with nuts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque. After installing the evaporator tube you must recharge the a/c system while testing the leaks in repaired or newly installed fittings using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). The final step involves reinstallation of the grille together with upper radiator shroud and air cleaner.

The first task when changing the A/C Accumulator requires refrigerant recovery from the system. First remove both the air cleaner and upper radiator shroud together with the grille. Detach the evaporator tube from the vehicle without losing the nuts and ferrules which should stay on the tube. Start by taking out the accumulator nuts and easing out the A/C Accumulator from the evaporator tube. Preparation of new o-rings requires 525 viscosity refrigerant oil for application before installing them onto the evaporator tube. Connect the new A/C Accumulator to the evaporator tube such that the flow arrow faces the evaporator and install the nuts before tightening them to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Reinstall the evaporator tube before using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to check for leaks at repaired or reinstalled components' fittings and proceed with a/c system recharging. Position the new A/C Accumulator with flow arrow towards the evaporator then install the nuts to the A/C Accumulator at 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Replace the evaporator tube followed by refrigerant recharging and performing a testing procedure to check system tightness using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). To finish up you must reinstall the grille and upper radiator shroud and air cleaner.

First, recover the refrigerant and disconnect the low pressure switch electrical connector before removing the low pressure switch.

Reinstall the grille, upper radiator shroud, and air cleaner.

Remove them but do not install the O-rings at this stage.

Detach the evaporator tube from the vehicle, ensuring that the ruts and ferrules remain on the evaporator tube.

Reinstall the pressure switch, connect the electrical connections, coat the new O-ring seals with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil, and install them.

Begin by recovering the refrigerant from the system.

Attach the new A/C refrigerant filter to the evaporator tube with the flow arrow pointing toward the evaporator.
