    Q:
How to replace the valve rocker arm and push rods on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace valve Rocker Arm and push rods includes placing valve train components into a rack for correct order preservation. The maintenance starts by removing all valve Rocker Arm covers. The procedure starts with removing the valve Rocker Arm bolts until the rocker arms and pushrods are accessible. During removal specific measurements should be noted since the intake pushrods are 147.51 mm (5.81 in) whereas the exhaust pushrods measure 154.87 mm (6.1 in). You should apply prelube coating to both ends of the pushrods before placement while ensuring that blue-striped intake pushrods match with blue-striped lifter bore slots and yellow-striped exhaust pushrods match with yellow-striped lifter bore slots. Before inserting the pushrods apply prelube on both sides of the Rocker Arm contact points. Reconditioning operations of the Cylinder Head or its components might require installation of shims (88894006) under the valve Rocker Arm pedestals. Use prelube on the installed rocker arms before adding the bolts and torque them to 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Install the valve Rocker Arm covers as the final step of the installation.
